Festival poster "Les siestes électroniques"

For the Toulouse-based festival Les Siestes Électroniques, Simon Mouneyres designed an official poster rooted in the profound concept of Cymatics, the study of visible sound and its direct physical impact on matter. The visual centerpiece features a high-detail photograph of a grass molecular structure, captured in the midst of being physically deformed by musical sound waves. This experimental approach serves to visualize the invisible yet powerful connection between the festival’s organic outdoor environment and the avant-garde electronic frequencies of the performances. To ensure total aesthetic harmony across the piece, the typography was bespoke and custom-designed, drawing direct inspiration from molecular chains and the fundamental structures of the physical world. The final result is a seamless fusion of science and art, where every element—from the organic distortion of the imagery to the modular type—reflects the innovative spirit of the event. By bridging the gap between photography, physics, and graphic design, this project stands as a technical and conceptual exploration of how sound shapes our perception of reality. It highlights Mouneyres’ ability to translate complex scientific phenomena into a striking and cohesive brand identity for a modern musical landscape.
